The bucket nobody works
Every CRM has a pile of closed lost opportunities that everyone agrees is worth revisiting and nobody actually does. The names are already qualified, the context is already there, and the barrier is almost always effort rather than value.
That is exactly the kind of work worth handing to a system, provided it is done with some care rather than a blanket blast.
Segment by why you lost
A single message to the whole bucket is how you become a nuisance. The reason you lost tells you what to say, so split the list before you touch it.
- Lost on price: the case has to be value, not a discount.
- Lost on timing: the only useful question is whether the timing has changed.
- No decision: the deal stalled, so lead with what is new.
- Lost to a competitor: acknowledge it, and lead with what is different now.
Find what changed since
A reactivation only works if you have a reason to send it. Something has to be different: a new capability, a change in your pricing, or a change in their situation like a funding round, a new hire or a public update.
If nothing has changed on either side, it is not time to reach out yet. A message with no reason behind it is the one that annoys people.
The re-approach
Keep it short and low pressure. Acknowledge the previous conversation, name the one thing that has changed, and make the next step small. You are offering a reason to look again, not reopening the whole pitch.
Sellora can hold each closed lost contact's history and pick the conversation back up when there is something worth saying, rather than on a fixed timer.
