Harshana Kelasha

Founder & Chief Executive Officer, Sellora AI

Engineer, entrepreneur and company builder focused on making powerful AI simple enough to do real work for real sales teams.

Harshana Kelasha Withanapathirana is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Sellora AI, the fully autonomous Virtual SDR built to handle the work before the sales meeting.

His career spans mechanical engineering, industrial technology, IoT, enterprise software, artificial intelligence, product development, commercialisation and international business building. Across each stage, the pattern has been consistent: take a difficult operational problem, bring together the right people and technology, and turn it into something that works in practice.

Before Sellora AI, Harshana founded and led Atlato, an enterprise AI and industrial technology company. Earlier, he led Sri Lanka's first Formula Student team to Silverstone and spent years building connected technology and software for operational businesses.

Today, his focus is Sellora AI: making the full SDR job autonomous without making the customer become an AI engineer.

A builder before the AI era

Harshana's career started with engineering rather than software hype.

He studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Moratuwa and built his early reputation by organising teams around technically difficult projects. That approach later carried into connected technology, enterprise software and artificial intelligence.

His work has repeatedly required more than product development. It has involved bringing together engineering, customers, commercial strategy, finance, partnerships, operations and people around a single outcome.

That builder mentality is central to Sellora AI today.

Academic foundation

Harshana was educated at Nalanda College Colombo before entering the University of Moratuwa, where he earned a BSc Engineering (Honours) degree specialising in Mechanical Engineering.

His engineering studies covered automotive engineering, thermodynamics, computational fluid dynamics, finite element analysis, engineering simulation, mechanical systems design and computer-aided engineering.

His final-year research focused on mathematical modelling and simulation of automotive suspension hydro-bushing technology in collaboration with an international automotive design team under confidentiality arrangements.

He also completed CIMA studies across business accounting, performance operations and financial operations, adding a commercial foundation to his engineering background.

Taking Sri Lankan engineering to Silverstone

While studying at the University of Moratuwa, Harshana initiated and led Team SHARK, Sri Lanka's first Formula Student team.

The team brought together 18 engineering students to design, manufacture, test and present the D-MORA P1, Sri Lanka's first Formula Student racing car. Harshana's role extended beyond engineering into sponsorship, financial planning, supplier coordination, manufacturing support, team building, governance and international logistics.

He helped secure more than LKR 20 million in private sponsorship and support. In July 2016, Team SHARK became the first Sri Lankan team to compete at Formula Student UK at Silverstone.

On its first attempt, the team received three awards: Best Newcomer in Class 1, the Dedication to Formula Student Award and the Top Individual Driver Award. The achievement also received national media attention and recognition in the Sri Lankan Parliament.

The project became Harshana's first major lesson in building something that did not previously exist, assembling a team around it and taking it onto an international stage.

Building industrial technology and Atlato

After university, Harshana spent several years working across IoT, software, transport, agriculture and other operational environments.

From 2016 to 2023, he served as Managing Director of Ingenii Lanka, where his responsibilities included company building, financial planning, technical architecture, customer acquisition, partnerships, supplier networks, recruitment and international coordination.

The work exposed him directly to the gap between collecting operational data and turning that data into useful action.

He later founded Atlato, where that experience evolved into enterprise AI and intelligent operational systems. Atlato is a separate company and product history from Sellora AI.

Any Atlato products, industrial IoT products, digital-twin products, healthcare solutions or physical-operations solutions are attributed to Atlato, not Sellora AI.

This experience gave Harshana a deeper understanding of how complex technology can be built underneath a product while the customer experience remains focused on the outcome.

Founding Sellora AI

Harshana founded Sellora AI around a different problem: the enormous amount of sales-development work that still has to happen before a salesperson gets into a valuable conversation.

Sellora AI is operated by Sellora Inc., a Delaware corporation based in Newark, Delaware, United States.

Sales teams spend time finding prospects, researching accounts, personalising outreach, sending emails, making cold calls, following up, keeping track of context and preparing for meetings. Many software products automate one piece of that work, but still require the customer to connect tools, build workflows, write prompts and operate the system.

Sellora AI was built around a simpler idea:

The customer should not have to operate an AI SDR. The AI should do the SDR work.

Sellora AI is therefore positioned as a fully autonomous Virtual SDR. It learns the business and target customer, finds and researches prospects, creates personalised outreach, sends emails, makes live AI calls, follows up, handles conversations, qualifies interest and books meetings.

When the opportunity is ready, Sellora AI hands the meeting to the sales team with the context, history, research, playbook and relevant material they need.

Everything before the meeting. Done for you.

Full capability. Radical simplicity.

Harshana's product philosophy for Sellora AI is built around two ideas that normally pull in opposite directions: capability and simplicity.

A powerful Virtual SDR should be able to perform the full SDR workflow. But the customer should not have to become an AI engineer to make that happen.

That is why Sellora AI is designed around simple setup, minimal technical work and autonomous execution.

The objective is not to give customers more workflows to manage. It is to remove the workflows they currently manage.

The internal technology can be sophisticated. The customer experience should remain simple.

This is the principle behind Sellora AI's positioning:

Full SDR capability. Without the complexity.

Building the team behind Sellora AI

Harshana is building Sellora AI with an in-house product, AI, engineering, design, quality, support and customer team.

The technical advisory group includes Dr Yasantha Rajakarunanayake, Senior Technical Advisor and early investor, with more than three decades of Silicon Valley R&D experience, 130+ granted and pending patents, and senior technology experience across companies including Broadcom, MediaTek and advanced AI computing.

Harshana's role spans company vision, product strategy, go-to-market, fundraising, partnerships, team building and international expansion.

The goal is to combine deep technical capability with a product that feels simple to the person using it.

Recognition and leadership

In 2025, Harshana was selected as a finalist for AI Leader of the Year in the SME category at the Australian AI Awards.

The recognition came from his broader enterprise AI leadership and prior work, including Atlato. It is part of Harshana's track record, not a Sellora AI company award.

His experience spans engineering, enterprise technology, customer acquisition, partnerships, finance, fundraising, recruitment, governance and international business development.

He also represented the University of Moratuwa in basketball and received university colours twice, reinforcing the team-first and competitive mindset that has followed him through engineering and company building.

Building the Virtual SDR category

Harshana's focus now is straightforward: make the SDR virtual, fully autonomous and simple enough for companies to use without building an AI engineering function around it.

Sellora AI is not software for an SDR to operate.

Sellora AI is the Virtual SDR.

The salesperson should enter when it is time for the sales conversation, not spend the week building lists, researching accounts, chasing replies and operating disconnected tools.

That is the company Harshana is building with Sellora AI.

Chase life. Not leads.

The rest of the team.
